Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified
I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Psychiatric nurse practitioners are similar to psychiatrists and can prescribe psychiatric medications, diagnose mental health problems, and provide psychotherapy. I see adults anywhere in California or Arizona and especially enjoy working with adults and with ketamine, a new treatment for depression, anxiety, and trauma. For ADHD treatment, please have neuropsychological testing completed or a previous diagnosis of ADHD documented before making an appointment for ADHD medication.

About Kerstin
There is an inner wisdom that brings us to seek healing.
I'm a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Psychotherapist. I believe healing comes from all sources of our experience, from our bodies, minds, and spirit or soul. We naturally want to heal, it's part of who we are, and medication, therapy, or ketamine can help us heal. I enjoy working with people who are ready to go deep into the work and are open to the healing process in the many forms it takes. I can prescribe mental health medications as well as provide psychotherapy and ketamine treatment or ketamine assisted psychotherapy. I have experience with a variety of therapies: Shame, Mindfulness and Compassion, body, poly-vagal, and parts based therapies, as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and enjoy working with people with complex PTSD. I have a Master of Nursing degree as a PMHNP from Oregon Health and Science University and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology degree as a psychotherapist from Pacific University. In addition, I completed the Master Psychopharmacology Certificate, through NEI (Neuroscience Education Institute) and Integrative Psychiatry Institute's Ketamine Prescriber Certification for using ketamine for treating mental health conditions. I also supervise Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Interns in their clinical experiences. A long time ago I was a violinist and music teacher and am still a quilter, sewist, and gardener and trying my best to heal my old wounds, too. |
